Forecast Model

LCI's engineering and technical staff is one with an extensive amount of expertise and experience; and as such, has developed a Gas Forecast Model that is aptly suitable for today’s Gas Supply, Transmission, or Consulting organization. This Model is the industry’s most precise and user-friendly Outlook tool on the market today. It provides a short-term forecast of gas supplies for both U.S. and Canadian sources wherein one or more of 90 different forecast types characterize those sources.

The degree of detail listed in this Model descends to a State, District, or even a Basin level. It separates coal-seam supplies from conventional supplies and further distinguishes between associated and non-associated supplies. Each of these forecast types carries a separate and distinct drilling program. These analyses are arrived at directly from field communications and/or other connected sources and is programmed into the intelligence of the Model.

The foundation and keystone for this Model, however, is the level of consistency that has been written into it. All of the different regions within the Lower 48 states and Western Canada are clearly defined and do not deviate from this premise. For example, the components that make up the San Juan Basin subtotal are the same order throughout the Model as they are they are in all other systems that have been developed by LCI.

Therefore, the user can feel assured in the research and analysis that has been built into the Model. Another significant asset of this Model is the ability for the user to become an interactive participant in generating various and different outlooks based on assorted or a unique set of assumptions. For example, the user has the capability of creating a different forecast based on his knowledge of a region’s revised drilling program. This “client revised” forecast can then be stored in the user’s own domain, thus becoming proprietary information that no one else is able to share. The base case, however, is updated every month depending on revisions in the marketplace, thereby keeping every subscriber informed of the changing set of circumstances.
